In a bold move, Jimmy Kimmel, the renowned comedian, has offered an intriguing deal to President Donald Trump. He proposed that he would personally present one of his prestigious awards to the president, but with a catch - Trump must agree to withdraw ICE from Minneapolis and return them to the borders.
Kimmel's inspiration for this offer came from Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who made headlines by gifting her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump. Kimmel humorously commented, "Rarely does a president yank a Nobel Prize off of someone's neck. He's probably sucking on it like a pacifier right now, looking happier than ever!"
But here's where it gets controversial... Kimmel disapproved of Trump accepting the Nobel Prize, yet he acknowledged that it was the only way to get the president to take action. "Trump loves awards, and giving him one is the key to getting him to do anything," he explained.
So, Kimmel decided to play this game and offered up his Emmy Award, along with other notable prizes, as an incentive for Trump to make a change. He stated, "Mr. President, I have an offer you won't want to refuse. If you agree to pull ICE out of Minneapolis, I'll give you one of these trophies I've received over the years."
Kimmel listed his Daytime Emmy for Best Game Show Host in 1999, his Clio Award for his work in advertising, and even his Webby Award, considered the internet's most prestigious honor. He also offered his Writers Guild Award and his unique 2015 Soul Train Award for "White Person of the Year."
"The choice is yours, Mr. President," Kimmel said. "I'll deliver these awards personally if you leave the people of Minneapolis alone."
Kimmel's comments come at a time when Trump is facing criticism for his support of ICE, especially after an agent's fatal shooting of Renee Good, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident. Additionally, Trump's recent military actions in Venezuela have sparked controversy.
"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC, providing a platform for Kimmel's unique brand of political commentary and humor.
